The move never materialised and Benteke signed a new contract with Aston Villa, effectively performing a U-turn on the sure-fire move and severely disappointing fans of the Lilywhites. This season, the striker has continued where he left off last season, reaching double figures with his goals and standing high in the scoring charts yet again, despite spending a couple of spells on the sidelines with injury. That said, he hasn't looked quite the player he was last season and that could be due to the fact that he is becoming disillusioned with life at Villa Park - after all, they aren't exactly challenging at the top of the league, where a player of his quality deserves to be playing.
