Spurs 0-1 Newcastle: Player Ratings

Yoan GouffranYohan Cabaye: Unable to impose himself going forward, but another good defensive game. Cabaye's all-round abilities can be a little underrated. 6/10. Yoan Gouffran: Assist from a central position despite nominally playing from the left flank. Pressed superbly on Kyle Walker. Gouffran has been involved in both key wins for the Magpies. Growing influence is good news for the Toon Army. Subbed. 7/10. Shola Ameobi: Led pressing from the front. Had ball in Spurs net, but flagged offside. Good hold up play, but subbed. 6.5/10. Loic Remy: Good movement seems to be something opposition defenders don't wise up to, so he continues to score. Kept his composure to round the onrushing Friedel and tap in. Subbed as he faded, however. 6.5/10. Subs: Vurnon Anita: Given half an hour to shore things up in midfield. Extra body did little to alleviate Spurs pressure though. Needs to do the jobs he's given better. No consistency with last week when he made an assist. 5/10. Papiss Cisse: Got 15 minutes to lead the line. Lashed over with only effort. Very much behind Shola and Remy in the Newcastle pecking order now unless he can force Pardew to rethink by scoring. 5/10. Gabriel Obertan: Given five minutes plus stoppages off the bench. Rating N/A. Who was your man of the match? Have your say below.
