4. Christian Eriksen Found Space
The Danish playmaker made a starting debut and starred as fluidity returned to Tottenham's play. As aforementioned, Spurs had struggled to find any attacking route through the middle of their previous league opponents Crystal Palace, Swansea, Arsenal and lacked that advanced no.10 playmaker. The 21-year-old former Ajax player addressed that issue supremely on Saturday, but he was helped by Norwich. With the Canaries doubling up on the wings, it left the central midfield pairing of Leroy Fer and Bradley Johnson exposed, and with Eriksen flitting between the lines it gave them problems. Fer looks like he could be a good addition, but Johnson looks short of Premier League class and the only mark he made on the game was the booking he picked up for a poor challenge on Roberto Soldado. With Elmander neither marking one of Tottenham's deeper lying midfielders nor filling in next to his central midfielders, it was very easy for Spurs to get Eriksen on the ball, and when the Dane gets on the ball things tend to happen.
