Spurs vs Swansea: 5 Ways Swans Can Upset Spurs

2. Knowing Your Enemy

Roberto Soldado is shaping up to be Spurs' main source of goals this season. With two goals in the Europa League and a goal in his league debut against Crystal Palace, it's easy to see why and to many, Soldado is still an unknown entity to play against. Only a handful of Premier League players would've played against, or with, the Spaniard and it's during these periods of learning that strikers can really flourish against naive defences. However Swansea have built a reputation of gathering their signings from La Liga. With seven Spaniards in the ranks, six of whom played in La Liga either with or against Soldado, their knowledge of the striker will be much greater than their fellow league rivals. From a defensive perspective both Jordi Amat and Jose Canas have squared up against Soldado last season. Whilst Chico Flores has knowledge of the striker from the season before during his time with Real Mallorca in 2011/12. At Rayo Vallecano, Amat prevented Soldado from netting in their 1-0 victory against Valencia at the Mestalla whilst Jose Canas' holding midfield position also contributed in the striker drawing a blank in Real Betis' 1-0 home victory against Valencia in the same season.
