Sunderland Agree £10m+ Fee For Connor Wickham
The young striker looks to be on his way - but where?
Crystal Palace have agreed a fee for Sunderland striker Connor Wickham, according to Sky Sports. Aside from a good spell of form during the 2013/14 relegation dogfight, Wickham has largely failed to impress in his four years at the Stadium of Light, but has clearly caught the eye of Eagles boss Alan Pardew. The Croydon Advertiser seems to think that Wickham's fee lies somewhere north of £10m, an amount far larger than many Sunderland fans would expect, given the 22 year old's underwhelming return of 11 goals in 74 Premier League matches. Wickham's departure could well signal Dick Advocaat's intention of buying a replacement striker before the close of the transfer window, with Jermain Defoe, Steven Fletcher and Danny Graham the only senior frontmen remaining.
