Sunderland Offer £10 Million For Tottenham Striker Peter Crouch
The lanky England striker has turned down a move to Sunderland before but what we will do now Emmanuel Adebayor is challenging him as Spurs' target man upfront.
Anton Ferdinand to Queens Park Rangers for £4 million in a move that is expected to be completed tomorrow, Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has reportedly made a whopping £10 million offer for lanky Spurs striker Peter Crouch. The England international played in Spurs' 5-1 defeat at home to Manchester City on Sunday but has been linked to a move to Stoke City recently and may well lose his place in favour of new loan signing and target man Emmanuel Adebayor, with Harry Redknapp wanting to keep hold of Roman Pavlyuchenko and Jermaine Defoe as they offer something different. Meanwhile Bruce is desperate to bring in a new striker after his misfiring team have only scored one goal in the first three matches of the new campaign, a stunning volley from midfielder Sebastian Larsson and nothing from the men up front with Asamoah Gyan failing to even hit the target, let alone the back of the net right now. Of course Crouch has turned down a move to Sunderland before, choosing a transfer to London over the North East when he joined Spurs from Liverpool - but Steve Bruce is trying again with the player who he believes will have that composure in front of goal Sunderland have severely lacked this season.
