On three separate occasions this season, Sunderland have failed to hit a shot on target, which is an abysmal record for a top level football team. They've clearly bought Danny Graham to shorten the odds of scoring, but they also need to get their midfielders shooting from further out and trying speculative efforts. Goalkeepers will eat up shorter shorts all day if they're any good, but with the pitch at Sunderland in a poor condition at the minute, getting players like Sessegnon to attempt longer efforts might just pay off. Sunderland need only look at near neighbours Newcastle United, who have in Yohan Cabaye the player who has scored the most amount of goals outside the box in the Premier League in the past two years. He might be something of a specialist, but if you don't try, you don't get. And anything that counts towards an improved accuracy rating in the next few weeks has got to be a plus.
