Sunderland vs Man Utd: 5 Changes Moyes Must Make After Appalling West Brom Defeat

2. Keep Certain Players Away From The First Team

Not just the obvious candidates in Ashley Young and Anderson, but also Buttner, Fabio Da Silva. They all have potential, and in Ashley Young even a possible match winner, but this is a team that needs consistency, a team that needs to win no matter what and these are not the players who give the Red Devils the performance level they need. Anderson is frustrating, he has the ability to be a consistent starter but injury issues have left him unable to keep up a decent level of performance in an area of the pitch that Manchester United desperately need. Ashley Young is in the worst form of his United career and that is a big statement. Whilst he goes through purple patches in which he is consistent and penetrative, most of time he is one gust of wind away from falling to the floor. United need a player who can quickly turn on the break, not a player who would rather stop play to gain a free kick. Rafael Da Silva and Patrice Evra are undisputed starters, understandably they cannot play every match, but when they are fatigued Fabio and Buttner cannot be seem as ample replacements. They possess very little quality when crossing, relying on pace but not much else. If they cannot consistently provide a final ball then there is not much point them playing in Premier League matches. Smalling and Jones do not have much ability on the flanks, but defensively they are well above the level of these two.
