Sunderland's 10 All-Time Premier League Goal Scorers
3. Niall Quinn (1996-2002) - 29 Goals
Niall Quinn was Sunderland's record signing once-upon-a-time. The target man had played for both Arsenal and Manchester City, but it was on Wearside where Quinn would endure his best footballing years. The fans loved him, and he loved them. His autobiography reads: "I learned my trade at Arsenal - became a footballer at Manchester City, but Sunderland got under my skin. I love Sunderland." Famous songs such as 'Niall Quinn's disco pants' continued to erupt from the stands, with the Irishman being one of the key players behind Sunderland's resurgence back to the Premier League in 1999. Though his best goalscoring years were in the First Division (now the Championship), Quinn did manage 29 league goals in five Premier League seasons, making him the third most prolific in Sunderland's history.
