1. Shoving Referee Paul Alcock
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AMnRO-v9kY Just before half time in Sheffield Wednesday's clash with Arsenal at Hillsborough, an altercation between the two sets of players flared up and a melee involving Di Canio (who else) and Arsenal's Martin Keown resulted in both players being sent off by referee Paul Alcock. Keown left the field, albeit a little upset, but without further incident. The same cannot be said of Di Canio, who shoved the referee in the chest in one of the most replayed moments in Premier League history. Alcock's fall to the ground was hysterical, as he first tried to regain his footing before ending up planted on his backside in slapstick form. The ref, who had just returned to action following a lay-off with a back injury, was later nominated for an Oscar for his theatrical exploits and it didn't end there. As Di Canio at last made his way toward the tunnel and down to the dressing room still visibly seething, Nigel Winterburn trotted over to give him a piece of his mind. Mistake. Much like Frank Lampard, Winterburn suffered the fierce, withering death stare of the Italian and the look on the Arsenal man's face said a thousand words as he resembled a petrified kitten about to be made a meal of by the family Rottweiler. What do you think of Paolo Di Canio being named new Sunderland boss? Let us know in the comment section, below.
