If there's one position the Black Cats have enjoyed surprising success with during their time in the Premier League, it's surely in goal. Thomas Sorensen, Simon Mignolet, and now Costel Pantilimon have all enjoyed impressive spells on Wearside. Sunderland's man between the sticks during their then record-low 15 point season, Kelvin Davis, certainly wouldn't be considered a member of such an illustrious list. Davis proved an error prone acquisition, arriving from Ipswich for the sum of £1,250,000. A particularly poor 4-1 loss to Portsmouth saw Kelvin fall victim to a 40-yard half-volley from Matthew Taylor, having been caught woefully out of position. Where Is He Now: Davis moved to Southampton after a sole season at Sunderland, a wise decision which saw him recapture his form. He has made 300 appearances for them in all competitions, but is currently regarded as a second or third choice keeper.
