Swansea 2-3 Man City: Premier League Player Ratings

Manchester City have temporarily gone top of the Premier League table with a 3-2 victory at Swansea. Fernandinho, Yaya Toure and Aleksandar Kolarov were all on target for Manuel Pellegrini's team in wet Wales in this win despite a Wilfried Bony brace. Swans manager Michael Laudrup made two changes to the XI that drew at Aston Villa. Goalscorer Roland Lamah and Dwight Tiendalli dropped to the bench as Angel Rangel and Wayne Routledge returned. City coach Manuel Pellegrini meanwhile brought Samir Nasri, Alvaro Negredo and Yaya Toure back after resting the trio for the narrow home win over Crystal Palace. Aleksandar Kolarov and Pablo Zabaleta came into the fullback berths too. Dedryck Boayata, Gael Clicy, Javi Garcia, James Milner and David Silva dropped out. Laudrup saw his injury crisis deepen when Swansea lost winger Pablo Hernandez to a hamstring problem early on. They fell behind to Fernandinho's opener, but Bony cancelled that out in first half stoppage time. Visitors City pulled two goals clear after the break. First Toure restored their lead before Kolarov ran from his own half to score. Bony struck again in second half stoppage time, giving Pellegrini a nervy few minutes. It proved to just be a Swans consolation though. Who caught the eye of the WhatCulture sports team? Click next to read our player ratings.
