Swansea City: 5 Managers Who Could Replace Brendan Rodgers

Michael Laudrup

Current Club: Unemployed Odds: 16/1 One big name manager that could be candidates for the role is Michael Laudrup. The former Danish international is a seasoned manager now, with teams like Brondby, Getafe, Spartak Moscow and Mallorca all filling his resume, not to mention an assistant coach role with the Danish national team. Laudrup would bring in a serious level of experience to Swansea and with a similar system to boot. Alongside Morten Olsen, Laudrup orchestrated the 4-2-3-1 system for the Danish national team. The pace of Gronkjaer and Rommedahl on the wings, plus Jon Dahl Tomasson in attacking midfield that was encorporated in the 2002 World Cup is not too dissimilar to how Swansea played last season with Dyer, Sinclair and Sigurdsson. The cost of acquisition for the Dane would also be low after Real Mallorca released the manager from his contract at the start of last season. However the wages that Laudrup may demand could be the major hurdle for a potential appointment at the Liberty Stadium.
