Swansea vs Man Utd - 5 Areas Where The Game Will Be Won & Lost

2. Filling The Gaps

As the transfer rumours continue to rumble on, as I am sure they will until its close, it remains to be seen whether Manchester United can fill the void in midfield that has been left with the departure of Paul Scholes and the ongoing injury problems of Darren Fletcher. United are still linked with the signing of Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas, despite fervent claims by the Spanish club that he will not be leaving the Camp Nou. Obviously, a big signing such as this, should it take place at all, would not be completed in time for Saturday's game, however it does once again raise the question of United's strength. Will the troubled midfield positions be solved? Personally, after watching the Community Shield match against Wigan, I think the midfield of Giggs, Carrick and Cleverley, with Welbeck just in front looked stable and creative. I also think Anderson will have a big impact should he get a game on Saturday. Overall, United's midfield, despite its obvious weaknesses, does still look too good for Swansea, however it remains to be seen whether it will stay that way for the entirety of the Premier League season. Personally, I believe a big signing is needed.
