Swansea vs Man Utd - 5 Areas Where The Game Will Be Won & Lost

1. Goalscorers

Michu One thing which Manchester United and Swansea City clearly had in common last season was their overall reliance on one top goalscorer. For The Swans it was Michu, who bagged 18 Premier League goals, compared to Robin van Persie's 26 for United. I feel that the result of Saturday's game, regardless of the performance of the other 20 players, will be decided by either Michu or RvP. Whether they have an instant impact with goals or chances, or whether they simply cause defenders to focus too much attention on them rather that other opponents, they are sure to be at the forefront of both managers' minds. If Manchester United's reinvigorated defence with the fully fit Vidic can keep Michu at bay, then that will allow their more attacking players to feed the ball into van Persie who will surely get numerous chances to bag his first Premier League goal of the 2013/2014 season. Similarly, it is highly likely that the powerful Michu will get at least one golden opportunity to strike, and if last seasons form is anything to go by he will take it. Swansea have had a great pre season campaign and Robin van Persie scored twice in United's 2-0 Community Shield win over Wigan, so it is clear that these two goalscorers will be full of confidence going into Saturday's game. It remains to see who will come out on top, however I feel United, with RvP and a fully fit Vidic, will prove too much for The Swans.
