3. Michu Vs Carrick/Jones
The undisputed bargain of last season, Michu plundered 22 goals in all competitions at a rate of just over a goal every other game.
18 of those were in the league, where just one was scored from outside the 18-yard box and four were taken inside the six-yard area. Needless to say, United will need to make sure they don't let him drift into the area unnoticed. Against most teams, Michael Carrick would perform the dual role of shielding the back four and starting attacks from a deep-lying position (more on this later). Phil Jones is quick, strong and good in the air, so it may be prudent for Moyes to opt to have him track Michu, thus freeing up Carrick to get on the ball more frequently to perform the other part of his role more effectively.
