A Manchester United academy product, Tate is currently a free agent having just been released by the Swans. Tates involvement was heavy during the teams days in the Football League. The centre half did not accumulate many appearances in the Premier League however. A host of loan deals came about after the Swans first season in the Premier League. Tate has lent a helping hand to Leeds & Aberdeen, among others. Tate was released by Crewe Alexandra at the end of the 2014/2015 season.
