The Big Kick Off: 5 Teams Who Impressed On The Opening Day

4. Rotherham United

Result: Crewe Alexandra 3-3 Rotherham UnitedGresty_Road,_Crewe Rotherham made their return to League One in one of the day€™s most exciting matches this Saturday. It€™s been 6 long years since The Millers last played in the third tier and it€™s a return match they certainly won€™t be forgetting any time soon. Steve Evans€™ men had a nightmare start to their campaign with Crewe scoring two goals in the opening nine minutes courtesy of Anthony Grant and Max Clayton respectively. Rotherham provided an instant response, with veteran Lee Frecklington firing home minutes later to half the deficit. Crewe however doubled their lead once again following the half time break thanks to a Harry Davis penalty. It looked like Crewe would be walking away comfortably with all three points until an 86th minute strike from Ben Pringle and a last minute equaliser from Frecklington to seal his brace made sure the away fans were travelling home with a smile on their face. Steve Evans€™ men resilient display is a sure signal of intent for the coming season.
