Speaking of overpriced Manchester City defenders, who are in and out of the England team, John Stones.

Tipped for greatness at a young age, Stones made a big money move from Everton to the Etihad in 2016 and has featured regularly for the trophy laden side, as well as the Three Lions, ever since.

Signed because of his ball-playing ability, Stones is a good defender but rather error-prone, often giving away possession cheaply and making costly mistakes. Not to mention his patchy injury record which has frequently disrupted his progress as a player.

It's not all been bad. He scored a brace at the World Cup against Panama and despite his issues, he was still a shoe-in for the Euro 2020 squad before it's postponement.

Stones has still got time to turn his poor run of form around of course, but with more competition for his position, he'll need to do it fast.
