The Most Expensive World Footballer XI Of All Time

2. Forward: Kylian Mbappe - £165.7 Million

Just under a month after PSG announced the game changing signing of Neymar, they also announced the signing of teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe on loan from Moncao with a view to a permanent transfer. The fee that was to be paid upon making this permanent was a reported £165.7 million, breaking several records. This was, and still is, the most expensive domestic transfer in history, making the Frenchman the most expensive teenager ever.

Though this sum is significantly less than the £200 million PSG paid for Neymar, it is still enough for Mbappe to call himself the second most expensive player in history. The youngster has set Ligue 1 on fire since moving to Paris, finishing the 2018-19 season as top scorer with 33 goals in 29 games, earning himself the Player of the Year award.

As with his Brazilian teammate, Mbappe hasn't been able to help PSG past the quarter final stage of the Champions League either, but at just 20 years old, the World Cup winner could potentially spend a lot of years in the French capital, working toward the European title this club so desires.
