2. Kyle Naughton vs. Antonio Valencia
Given the prolonged absence of Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Kyle Naughton has found himself deputising for the Frenchman at left-back so far this season, and will be looking to further stake his claim for a place in the staring eleven with a solid performance on Sunday. Blessed with technical prowess and with pace in abundance, Naughton has won praise from fans and football experts alike for both his defensive and offensive abilities. And the youngster will need to be at his sharpest at the weekend, if he is to successfully snub out the threat of Antonio Valencia. The United winger has been one of the most consistent performers in recent years, following his move from Wigan in 2009, and with Ashley Young sidelined through injury, the Ecuadorian will be looking to prove to Sir Alex that he should be the first name considered for the right-wing position. The biggest asset Valencia has in his locker is pace. When he is in full flow, the 27-year-old is a marvel to watch. He has the ability to beat players at will, and his delivery into the box is exceptional. Valencia is not one to shirk his defensive responsibilities either, regularly tracking back to help his teammates when needed. If United play their traditional game with two wide men, they have the ability to really punish Andre Villas-Boas side on the wings.
