Trialist Nets Brace For Newcastle U21s As He Continues To Impress

Dani Koks seems to be making quite an impression at Newcastle.

Trialist Dani Koks has continued to impress after netting both Newcastle United Under-21s' goals during the Magpies' 2-1 victory over Utrecht. Earlier this month, Dutch De Telegraaf journalist Mike Verweij confirmed that the 17-year-old former Ajax midfielder was spending a week trial on Tyneside, and he scored during the U-21s' 4-3 victory over Vitesse Arnhem on Tuesday. And the midfielder continued his rich form during the Magpies' second tour match in Holland, as he scored twice against Utrecht to give Newcastle U-21s a second victory in as many games. https://twitter.com/MikeVerweij/status/618161047862644736 Earlier this month, Verweij tweeted a photo of Koks - in which the youngster was pictured sitting underneath the Newcastle United emblem with his training kit in a sports bag in front of him - along with the following message (translated):
"Dano Koks (17) last season playing for #Ajax B1 is this week on trial #Newcastle @NUFC."
McClaren reportedly wants to recruit at least six faces to his first-team squad this summer, but the Magpies boss is also looking to add depth to the development side as well. And, if Koks continues his current form, it appears he could well be offered a deal on Tyneside. The Magpies are already supposedly looking to agree a deal for Northampton Town€™s 19-year-old forward Ivan Toney, and therefore it seems more arrivals could also take place over the next few weeks.
