UFC: 10 Candidates For Anderson Silva’s Next Fight

1. Georges St. Pierre

You want spectacle? You want superfight? Look no further than the other name in the UFC GOAT conversation: GSP. (Note, I said UFC, not MMA, otherwise Fedor would be in there also). This is the superfight that was teased again and again by Dana White, to the point that both fighters openly spoke of it. There was talk about it going down in Dallas. It was to be a stadium match. It would sell like hotcakes. Both fighters, however, had other challengers, and could never seem to agree on a weight class. However, since then, Silva has lost his belt, and GSP has opted to take time off, vacating his belt. Neither are a champ, but they're both considered to be the best of their weight classes, especially with GSP having walked away on his own terms, and Silva's losses having less of a sting thanks to their "fluky" nature. Here's some real food for thought as well: While out of competition, GSP continued to train, and tore his other ACL. He came back from his first ACL surgery and put on one of his best fights, against Carlos Condit, so we know he can come back from such a serious injury. The thing is, this means they're both rehabbing, and both could be ready at roughly the same time. This also means that the question of ring rust won't matter, as both will be facing it - and we don't have to worry about either weight class winding up log-jammed, as neither fighter is currently champ. This is actually the perfect time to sign this fight. Early 2015. Silva vs GSP for the title of the Greatest of All Time. You in?
