2. Ultimate Fighter Physical Confrontation
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5waenm4SpQ It only seemed fitting that at least one mini fight would occur between them. For it to happen on The Ultimate Fighter was shocking, considering there have been more intense rivalries and no physical contact occurred on those particular seasons. Who can forget Rashad Evans and Rampage Jackson coaching against one another? They got in each other's faces on nearly episode, where both of them would consistently try to get under each other's skin. It's hard pressed to find a rivalry that will ever top that again. When Silva was getting closer to Sonnen and threatening him, where were both teams to break it up? In season ten featuring Rampage and Evans, we would always see a heavyweight like Matt Mitrione or Brendan Schaub trying to separate them from attacking one another. On this season, you just saw Silva want to hit Sonnen and nobody reacted. The whole situation seemed bizarre, much like this rivalry as a whole. Sonnen secured the takedown to no one's surprise, which was a smart decision to avoid any serious physical harm. That takedown
reportedly led to Silva being injured and their scheduled fight on May 31st at The Ultimate Fighter Finale had to be moved to UFC 175. That wasn't the only effect from the brawl.
Andre Dida blindsided Sonnen and managed to punch him three times, before being separated. Just when you thought it couldn't get more odd, an assistant coach cheap shots an opposing head coach. It was even more shocking that Dida didn't face any serious repercussions. The brawl did create a significant amount of controversy.
