Donald Cerrone is insane.

The frequency with which he is willing to step in the cage and engage in the most enjoyable type of violence with anyone who will sign a contract to face him is unheard of among fighters of his caliber. Some people criticize him for his personality, but when you look at Cerrone as nothing more than a professional fighter it's hard to do anything other than admire him.

Literally moments after defeating Matt Brown in a razor-thin barnburner at UFC 206, 'Cowboy' announced his desire to fight on the January 28 card in his home state of Colorado. Jorge Masvidal has previously made it known that he was game to throwdown with Cerrone, and the two agreed to the bout on Twitter, with their many followers in obvious support of the potentially exciting rumble.

The match vs. Masvidal will mark Cerrone's sixth trip into the cage in a 13-month span, with his last four wins being all finishes. In a climate where most big names fight two, maybe three times a year, it's refreshing to see a top guy so willing to put it all on the line as often as Donald does. He's currently rocketing up the welterweight rankings and if he picks up a win over Masvidal he's going to be right behind guys like Stephen Thompson, Demian Maia, and Robbie Lawler for a title shot.

UFC 209 will reportedly see the return of Nick Diaz - a fitting event for the Stockton legend to return at - and I can think of no one better to welcome him back to the octagon than Donald Cerrone. Make it happen, UFC.
