UFC: Michael Bisping's 5 Biggest Controversies

1. Spitting At An Opponent

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBnbDvnu9PQ There are the written rules of MMA (the unified rules), and then there are the unwritten rules. One of the biggest - you do not spit on or at an opponent. Someone apparently failed to mention this to Michael Bisping. After his UFC 127 match with Jorge Rivera, during which he had already delivered a (possibly intentional) illegal knee to his opponent, Bisping went over to Rivera's corner - and attempted to spit on the fighter, or at least at someone in his corner, possibly Bisping's boxing coach. Now, there had been a lot of trash talk and bad blood leading up to the fight, but that does not in any way, shape, or form excuse Bisping's actions. Words are words, this was something different. Additionally, while Rivera attempted to show respect after the fight, Bisping demanded an apology for the pre-fight trash talk then told Rivera to "Go home, loser" in one of the worst displays of sportsmanship in years. Incredibly, Bisping tried to deny the incident ever happened, despite it being plain to see for everyone on video (maybe he forgot the event was being broadcast the world over?). When reminded of the fact that yes, cameras and the internet are a thing and no one was about to forget the indiscretion, he said the following: "I was spitting on the floor to let him know what I thought of him." Well, we guess that makes it okay then...
