Despite a few minor blips, Emery deserves a lot of credit and has won more trophies than his Chelsea counterpart Sarri and Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino. He's won at least one trophy every year since the 2013-14 season and has a very impressive record. Emery's struggles in the Champions League with PSG seem to have given him a bad reputation, but he's still one of the top managers in Europe and was realistically one of the best options Arsenal could have gone for.

He's been smart in the transfer market too, reinforcing Arsenal's squad with some experienced defenders and a strong defensive midfielder in Lucas Torreira. Arsenal haven't added any flashy attackers, but they won't need them if Emery can get the best out of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Alexandre Lacazette.

Emery has cut a determined figure in interviews, vowing to make the London side "the best team in the world". Arsenal fans will appreciate his optimism and should enjoy watching him turn their squad into a fitter, faster, and more hard-working outfit. One thing they can be sure of is that Emery won't settle for any laziness on the part of his players and will make changes to his team if certain individuals aren't performing.

On paper, Arsenal's squad has a lot of potential, and Emery could be the man to bring that potential to life, adding the grit and fire needed to transform Arsenal from a group of talented individuals into a unified team that never gives up. The Premier League is fiercely competitive, and it might take a little time for Arsenal to adapt to his methods, but Emery could prove to be a great appointment.
