Norwich City 2-2 Everton

Martinez and Hughton Share A Deserved Point Norwich and Everton showed off their fire-power in this head-to-head tussle at Carrow Road. Roberto Martinez gave a start to youngster Ross Barkley as the England under-21 international had impressed during preseason while Chris Hughton gave debuts to Nathan Redmond and the club's record signing, Ricky Van Wolfswinkel. It wasn't long before we saw the brilliance of the Toffees midfielder but it was Norwich who took the lead. Defender Steven Whittaker wormed through a usually tight Everton defence to give the Canaries the lead but it was then Barkley's turn to create some magic. The 19-year-old was given time and space on the edge of the box to unleash a world class effort into the corner of John Ruddy's net. The Toffees took the lead through Seamus Coleman but then Whittaker turned provider to set-up Van Wolfswinkel who buried a beautiful header into the top corner.
