West Brom vs Tottenham Hotspur - Match Preview

The London side will be favourites for this one, but The Baggies at the Hawthorns are no pushovers.

West Bromwich Albion head into this game coming off the backs of a 2-1 victory over strugglers Bolton Wanderers. The win put them up to tenth spot in the league and Hodgson will be looking to improve on that result from last weekend and try and secure back-to-back wins by beating a Spurs side that are in great form. Irish striker Shane Long is out for Albion after suffering another injury in training, a big blow for the Baggies as Long is the side's top scorer. Other star forward Peter Odemwingie is also set to miss the match with a knee injury, although Austrian midfielder Paul Scharner is available after recovering from a minor knee injury. West Brom have some big, big games coming up in the next few weeks as they face QPR next weekend, Blackburn after that and Wigan the following week. Three points, however hard it may be, would be a great achievment and boost for the Albion players tomorrow. Tottenham Hotpsur are in tremendous form. The team haven't lost a game since losing to the two Manchester clubs back in August at the start of the campaign and recently coach Harry Redknapp said "we can challenge for the title". Well, if they keep up their fine form then who's to stop them? They've got a great squad, manager and heading into the Christmas period they sit in the top four with a game in hand over every other team in the division. Attackers Gareth Bale and Emmanuel Adebayor are just a couple of players that are firing on all cylinders for Spurs at the moment. Adebayor, on loan from Manchester City, has five goals this season, whilst Gareth Bale has been putting in some breathtaking displays. The London side will be favourites for this one, but the Hawthorns is no pushover. Key Men Tottenham - Emmanuel Adebayor. Five goals in nine appearances for Spurs this season, got a brace against Aston Villa on Monday night and his power plus pace will cause the West Brom backline problems. West Brom - Zoltan Gera. The Hungarian put in a hard working performance against Arsenal a fortnight ago after recovering from an injury which prevented him from playing straight away when arriving from Fulham in the summer for a second spell at the Baggies. His technical ability and flair will be needed by Albion if they are to pull off a shock result. Nathan's prediction: West Brom 1-2 Tottenham.
