West Ham Transfer News: Maiga And Razvan Rat Both Gone

In a final flurry of transfer activity towards the end of the winter window, West Ham moved two players off their books. Despite the limited options available to boss Sam Allardyce in the final third, the Hammers allowed Mobido Maiga to leave on loan for QPR (despite the usual comedy assertions by Harry Redknapp that no more business would be done - cue two more deals and a cheeky attempt to sign Jermain Defoe on loan) until the end of the season. Maiga has been a mixed bag since joining from Sochaux back in July 2012 after a well-publicised failed medical at Newcastle United, scoring just 3 goals in 31 appearances for the Hammers. The Malian has been forced down the pecking order recently with the return of Andy Carroll, the contract extension for Carlton Cole and the transfer window loan signing of Marco Borriello from Roma, and he will now link up with Redknapp's men to push on in their quest to return to the Premier League. Rat meanwhile has had his contract ended by the London club, having only signed back in May on a free transfer. The Romanian full-back is now available to speak to other clubs regardless of the transfer window having ended, having only made 14 appearances after his move from Shakhtar Donetsk. Are you happy that Rat and Maiga have moved on? Share your thoughts below.
