World Cup 2014: 25 Most Memorable Moments

13. Tim Cahill's Goal Vs Holland

When Holland went 1-0 up against Australia in their second group game it was assumed that an onslaught might follow, but almost immediately the Australians went up the other end, Tim Cahill connected with a perfect cross and his shot went off the crossbar into the back of the net.

It was an outstanding finish that displayed superb technique and led to ITV€™s Clark Carlise getting a bit over excited. Though the Socceroo€™s ended up losing this game 3-2 and were eliminated from the competition, this game will always be remembered for this moment of sheer brilliance, which was definitely one of the goals of the tournament.

12. Neymar's Injury

Neymar was under immense pressure to perform at this World Cup, and the competition€™s poster boy had lived up to expectations as he led an otherwise lacklustre Brazil side to the quarter finals.

With Neymar€™s Brazil 2-1 up against Columbia the semi-final was insight and Brazil were optimistic, but then the 22 year old found himself on the wrong end a high knee by Columbia€™s Juan Zuniga, and as Neymar was taken down the tunnel on the stretcher Brazil€™s hopes of winning the World Cup for the sixth time went with him.

Brazil felt aggrieved over the injury to their talisman but in reality they had turned the game into the fouling fest it was by targeting James Rodriguez, so they can have no complaints.
