World Cup 2018: 10 Most Dramatic Moments From The Group Stage

5. The Goal That Shook Mexico City

At the time, it was an incredible moment. In hindsight, it was the beginning of the end for Germany when Mexico's thrilling young winger, Hirving Lozano, found himself in space, collected a pass from Javier Hernández, darted into the box, cut inside onto his right foot, and blasted the game's only goal past Manuel Neuer.

It was a goal that metaphorically shook the world and quite literally shook Mexico City, with celebrations from Mexican fans allegedly causing such strong vibrations that they were actually detected by seismometers in the area.

A fine strike by a very exciting young player, Lozano's goal gave Germany a rare group game defeat. In fact, it was only the second time the Germans had lost their opening World Cup match. The strike also helped to set Mexico up for one of their best ever World Cup victories and gave them three valuable points in their bid to win the group. In the end, Mexico had to settle for second place, but fans won't be forgetting Lozano's incredible goal any time soon.
