World Cup 2018: 10 Players Who Don't Deserve To Be Going Home
7. Aaron Mooy
As usual, Australia mostly gave a good account of themselves at the World Cup and will probably be looking back with a few regrets over their missed chances, especially in their first two games. They only narrowly lost to France and could have beaten Denmark on another day in their second match.
They struggled in their final match with Peru and lost 2-0, but Huddersfield's Aaron Mooy was undoubtedly one of the Socceroos' most consistent performers. In spite of his side's bad luck on occasion, Mooy never let his head drop and once again proved himself to be an irreproachable professional, running all over the pitch, creating some big chances and getting stuck in time and time again.
Mooy gave France some real problems in Australia's opening game, timing his tackles perfectly and setting himself apart as the Socceroos' talisman. Mooy's midfielder partner Mile Jedinak will take a little more of the glory after converting two penalties at the tournament, but Mooy's hard work and positive attitude cannot go understated.
