It's one of those things you need to see to really appreciate. Dean has become known as one of the more theatrical referees in the Premier League over the last decade or so. He is THAT referee who loves to steal the attention of the biggest Premier League fixtures and place it on his shiniest of chrome domes, more often than not. He did his best to do just that at St James' Park last night, none more so when he awarded the second penalty of the night to the home side. The pose and way he pointed to the spot wouldn't have gone amiss in a Harry Potter film; all you would have needed to do was add a wizard's hat and a wand to his ensemble and he'd be good to go. Mike really didn't have the best of nights. Both sides were left aggrieved on more than one occasion when the official got a call wrong that would have benefitted their respective causes.
