9. Rolando Aarons - 6.5 (Replaced By Olivier Kemen After 59 Minutes)
The main concern is Rolando Aarons' fitness - with the winger limping off at 59 minutes, although he posted on Twitter aftewards that he had merely suffered from cramp. A player blessed with immense talent, Aarons has been incredibly unlucky with injuries to date in his fledgling career, so let's hope for the best. In terms of his performance before he went off, Aarons were lively in spells but nowhere near as influential as he can be at his best. The youngster did attempt one audacious overhead kick in the first-half - reminiscent of the cracking first goal he netted against Portland Timbers 2 last week - but unfortunately this time it was further out and hit straight at the goalkeeper. Still able to produce some dangerous final balls, Steve McClaren will hope Aarons' fitness is not a concern because he could be the spark that could really ignite Newcastle this season.
Olivier Kemen - 5.5
Slotting in as a defensive-midfielder in the 59th minute, Kemen did nothing of note either offensively of defensively. Rumours continue to grow that he is being courted by various European sides and clearly Kemen wants first-team football - and, on the evidence of his reasonable showing at Bootham Crescent, he deserves a chance.
