10 Buffy The Vampire Slayer Episodes That Are Almost Perfect

1. Chosen (Season 7, Episode 22)

The final episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer is fantastic. Fun fight sequences are balanced with some great character moments, and it’s great to see the relief on Buffy’s face during the closing scene.

But despite how great this finale is, it isn’t quite perfect. For one thing, the ubervamps – who were so frightening at the start of the season – are much weaker during the final fight, which is a clear plot convenience designed to give the Potential Slayers more of a chance.

Yet the biggest disappointment is definitely Anya’s death. For the last four seasons, Anya has been a major part of the Scooby Gang, but – for whatever reason – she gets a rushed death that lacks any emotional punch. Amongst the chaos of the final battle, we briefly see Anya getting stabbed from behind, and that’s it – the next time she appears, she’s just a corpse on the ground.

Whilst ‘Chosen’ is still a great way to end the show, it would have been much better if Anya’s death was given the time it deserved.
