10 Doctor Who Villains Who Actually Won

Of course it's the Daleks. It's always the Daleks.

These killer dustbins always find a way to come back to life, even when they've been shot, blown up, or wiped from existence entirely. However, they very nearly never existed at all.

Back when Tom Baker had his jelly baby-covered hands on the TARDIS key, the Doctor was sent on a mission to destroy the Daleks before they are even created.

This leads to the Time Lord's first-ever encounter with Davros, who looks a little more rubbery than modern fans might be used to.

Ultimately, the Doctor cannot commit genocide, so he lets the creator complete his work and unleash the hateful race of monsters into the universe.

When it comes to victories, they don't come much bigger than this in Doctor Who. If the Daleks had never existed, the entire landscape of the show would be completely different.

The Doctor undoubtedly did the moral thing, but imagine how many lives would've been saved if these abhorrent creatures were erased from history. The Tenth Doctor's Baywatch-style run towards Rose Tyler in Series 4 would've ended with a hug rather than a regeneration lost, for example.

Ah, what could've been.
