Arrested Development: 20 Greatest Running Jokes

17. The Cornballer

670px-1x03_Bringing_Up_Buster_(01) Ah, the Cornballer. Before George Snr. was rich and successful, he spent a large part of the '70s marketing a neat new invention which turned out to be incredibly dangerous and made him liable for hundreds of lawsuits. This invention, the Cornballer (you use it to make "cornballs"), has popped up throughout the series and works as a constant reminder of George Snr.'s lackluster attitude towards business and customer safety in general. The Cornballer was made illegal in the aftermath of its release, due to the fact that it gave pretty much everyone who used it serious burns, though there are glimpses of this thing in a number of episodes. When George Snr. goes to Mexico, he discovers that the police all have Cornballer-related burns, and have sought revenge for their injures for many years. But it has its uses, too: one time it burns off his fingerprints, and he can't be identified.
