Doctor Who: 10 Things We Want To See In 'The Day Of The Doctor'

3. The Exploding TARDIS

It's easy to forget, and casual viewers probably have, that the dangling thread of Series 5€™s exploding TARDIS was not resolved by the IT Crowd Sci-Fi Special solution when Matt Smith saved the universe by turning it off and on again. At the end of the episode, with the Doctor and the Ponds resurrected, the Doctor still didn€™t know who or what blew up his beloved blue box. There is no way Mr Moffat has forgotten about this, he€™s probably been playing the long game. My two pence (and no, I didn€™t check with my gran), is that it was the Daleks who exploded the TARDIS. With minutes to spare before the time lock, and knowing that two future versions of the Doctor had been present at the Time War, the Daleks launched some kind of weapon into the future to try and blow up the TARDIS and stop them living to fight another day. Equally then, the Daleks would have created the need for the Silence to try and stop the Doctor, which could be a great link-up. Cue 11 looking very smug when he realises that he has already solved the problem the Daleks sent for him. This smugness may mean that he doesn€™t realise this though€
