Doctor Who: 20 Genius DeviantART Creations You Need In Your Life
14. Dalek
By: GrahamTG One of my criteria for getting into this list was that any picture catching my eye would cause me to delve deeper into the artist's portfolio. Of all the artists here, this portfolio contains the greatest amount of work at the same level as the one in front of you. It's simply stunning and in it you can find Station V from 2001: A Space Odyssey, a cloud city from Star Wars, some brilliant shiny spheres and goodness knows what else. From the angle we see the picture's subject to the interplay of blues, golds and shadows, this composition is carefully constructed and excellently thought out as an iconic shot of the Dalek relentlessly hunting down its foe. When you get around to looking at the original, click on 'enlarge'. Believe me it gets better the more detail is revealed. 3-D render is difficult to do well, but this convinces at every level. A little theme that comes up in this list is that some of the art can be good, but doesn't really have a sci-fi feel about it. Yet this does, and it retains an extra level of other-worldliness about it.
