Riverdale: 8 Biggest Questions We Have For Season 4
2. Can Archie Find His Place On The Show Again?
At the beginning of the third season, Archie found himself behind bars and at Hiram Lodge's mercy, as his girlfriend's father was making him pay for threatening him. By the end of the season, however, he was a champion boxer who had played a key role in imprisoning Hiram and now wanted to give back to Riverdale.
It's an impressive (and highly ironic) development for the character, but the only problem is that not an awful lot happened in between those two milestones. Well, not much of significance, anyway. Sure, he went off to a farm (no, not that one), nearly got killed by a bear and had a short-lived relationship with Josie McCoy, but what did any of that actually accomplish?
As likeable as Archie is, he seems to be becoming less relevant to the show's major storylines by the season. Hopefully now with his heavy involvement in the finale's twist, and his kind-hearted plans to turn his gym into a halfway house for runaway teens, the writers can figure out how to reintroduce the once-beloved character to the important aspects of the show.
After all, the series is based on the Archie Comics.
