There may be no character in all of fiction more deserving of a grisly end than Gemma Teller-Morrow. As the matriarch of the SAMCRO family, Gemma carried out more than her share of atrocious acts, including killing Tara, threatening a baby and just being an all-around terrible human being.

By the time she met her end it had been dragged out to an excruciating degree, but nevertheless that didn't distill the amount of shock at seeing her demise play out onscreen.

Gemma dying at the hands of her son was always how this story was meant to unravel, but Jax gunning her down from behind was still jarring. The two shared an emotional, even somewhat tender in a murderous sort of way, moment before the Sons president pulled the trigger, leaving his mother's dead body lying in a rosegarden as he scurried off to reconvene with his club.

It was a poetic end for a character that operated under the mantra of doing everything for her "club and family", as Gemma solemnly embraced her fate and welcomed the bullet from her offspring's weapon.
