We all know the official line-up of the X-Men cartoon. It reminded us in the intro of every episode. Even though it'll be amazing to see Jean Grey, Jubilee, Gambit, and Rogue again, X-Men '97 shouldn't be afraid to broaden the roster. After all, some X-Men weren't so popular at the time but are now staples in the comic book series. Colossus and Nightcrawler appeared in the show but were never official members. Now would be a great time to make them a part of the team.

Considering Kitty Pryde was originally meant to take centre stage, it's criminal she was axed for the show's entire run. Since the phasing superheroine has only become more popular over time, making her an integral part of the roster seems logical.

Introducing new characters wouldn't just be an excuse to please fans but an opportunity to change the dynamic between the characters. Incorporating Cyclops' brother, Havok, into the X-Men could create a rivalry between the siblings. By inserting Wolverine's clone, X-23, Logan would be forced to act more like a mentor. By implementing the correct superheroes into the team, it should make the dynamic between all of them far more engaging.
