8 WWE Stars Who Worked (By Not Working)

7. Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman's rise up the WWE ladder follows a blueprint set decades prior to ensure monstrous heels hear boos from fans. Demolishing a string of hapless jobbers, bullying defiant underdogs like Sami Zayn, and even threatening beloved fan favourites such as Mick Foley have all been hallmarks of Braun's run on Raw.

There's just one problem: WWE then booked Strowman to gun for Roman Reigns.

Tipping over ambulances and relentlessly attacking the unpopular Reigns have both helped Braun develop a bond WWE don't want between wrestler and audience. Even though Strowman is supposed to be Raw's menacing giant who fans loathe, his actions are so undeniably entertaining that it's hard to root against him.

After all, who doesn't want to live vicariously through Braun's ass-kicking antics and watch him smash up everyone on the roster?

Strowman has been so effective in his role that cheers can now readily be heard any time he appears.
