3. Sergio Martinez

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcQGK9yOyHo Alias: Maravilla Division: Middleweight Age: 38 Country: Argentina Record: 51-2-2 (28 KOs) Titles: WBC Middleweight World Champion The WBC and lineal middleweight champion of the world, Sergio Martinez, has been undefeated since his 2009 majority decision loss to Paul Williams. Since then, he's amassed an incredible run of wins. In his very next fight after the loss to Williams, he able to land a shot at the WBC and WBO middleweight titles. He convincingly defeated then-champion Kelly Pavlik by way of a unanimous decision. He then avenged his prior defeat to Paul Williams with a savage second round knockout of the year. Those two performances really put Martinez on the map and in the pound for pound mix. 2011 saw Martinez see off the challenges of Serhiy Dzinziruk and Darren Barker, with neither fighter hearing the final bell. Come March 2012, Martinez survived a scare against a spirited Matthew Macklin, of Ireland, on St. Patrick's Day. Macklin dropped Martinez in the seventh stanza, but Martinez eventually rallied back, dropping Macklin twice in the 11th round. Macklin retired on his stool before the start of the 12th round and Martinez again regained his crown as the world middleweight champion. September 2012 saw a huge PPV showdown with Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. The greatly anticipated contest did not live up expectations for the first eleven rounds, with Martinez controlling the action and winning every round against a subdued Chavez. But Chavez came to life in the final round, a late onslaught saw Martinez taste the canvas, but the Argentine was able to survive and gain a wide points victory on all three of the judges' scorecards. Martinez' only bout of 2013 saw him labour to a close points win over Great Britain's Martin Murray, in which Maravilla was again knocked down. In the end, Martinez did enough to claim a unanimous decision in a huge outdoor event in his native Buenos Aires, Argentina. Struggling with knee problems, Martinez has not fought since due to surgery. His next bout is potentially a blockbuster affair with Miguel Cotto at Madison Square Garden, New York in June.
