Having been touted as a future legend of the game when he was in his teens, there were some who felt Neymar could not be properly judged until he moved to Europe. After a fairly average first season at Barcelona last season, the doubts over his true quality remained. Over the last six months he has really started to show what a special player he is though. He was Brazil's only shining light in an ultimately disastrous World Cup campaign- his injury in the quarter-final win over Colombia all but ended their hopes of glory- and he was one of the attacking stars of the tournament. He has taken that form with him into the new season, where he has been arguably Barcelona's best player in the opening few months of the campaign. The silky wide man has scored 11 goals in just 12 games, including a fine finish in El Clasico against Real Madrid. The 22-year-old sometimes doesn't get the credit he deserves, and it's sometimes easy not to notice that fact he has about two or three players marking him every time he gets the ball. He wins countless free-kicks, and such is the attention he receives from opposition players, it gives space for his unmarked teammates to wreak havoc. If he continues progressing like he is, it would be a big surprise if Neymar isn't number one on this list one day.
