10 Best Footballers In The World Right Now

3. Arjen Robben

Ever since he was a youngster Robben has been incredibly highly-rated. He was sensational for PSV Eindhoven, and he looked set to become a superstar at Chelsea. Injuries and form hampered his progress right up until his late 20s though, but in the last couple of years he has been phenomenal, finally reaching his potential in the process. The 30-year-old has probably been Bayern Munich's most important player since Guardiola arrived at the club, and his game has improved hugely under the former Barcelona boss. Having missed a penalty in the 2012 Champions League Final against Chelsea, Robben was once again tagged as a nearly man who didn't have the bottle in the key moments. He responded brilliantly, however. He scored the winning goal a year later in final, against Dortmund at Wembley, finally producing on the big stage, and he was bordering on unplayable all season long. That form has continued right up to the present day, and his ability to cut inside onto his left foot from the right is unrivalled, and there is simply nothing you can do to stop it. He consistently scores goals and creates others, while his improved work-rate under Guardiola has been a huge reason why his game has gone up a gear. For so long it looked like the Dutchman's career would be one of what might have been, but he has now firmly established himself as one of the finest attacking players of his generation.
