27-year-old Juventus full-back Alex Sandro has been in and out of the Brazil squad over the years but never quite done enough to tie down a starting place. An extremely talented defender with a great eye for a pass and good dribbling skills, a player of Alex Sandro's calibre would be welcomed into most other national squads, but just hasn't done enough to convince Brazil's coach Tite.

Of course, with Real Madrid's Marcelo as his main rival, it's understandable that Alex Sandro hasn't earned too many caps. He's certainly strong enough to be his country's second choice left-back, but that spot has been handed to Atletico Madrid's Felipe Luis instead.

The former Porto man has been a really important player for Juventus in recent years, helping the club to successive league and cup victories, as well as a Champions League final last year. This season alone, he provided 4 goals and 4 assists in 26 league games, but will have to cheer his team on from home rather than taking part in this summer's tournament.
