8. Ledley King's Testimonial
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZN7OSEG0ZE Ledley King is a Spurs legend. The retired defender spent his entire career at White Hart Lane, making him a one-club man - something very rare in modern football - and, as such, is universally admired by the club's fans. He became the club's captain and led them to their only trophy in recent years - the 2008 League Cup - and captained them in 2009 final, as well as throughout their maiden Champions League campaign. What made King remarkable was the fact that he had such a chronic knee injury that he couldn't even train - yet he still performed to immaculate standards and earned 21 England caps. So, it was a real pleasure to see his career celebrated earlier this year by way of a testimonial. Ledley's guest XI, which included players like David Ginola, Dimitar Berbatov and Paul Robinson, defeated the current Spurs team 6-3, in a match that included such charming moments and Lewis Holtby taking out referee Howard Webb and the official retaliating in humorous fashion.
