10 Best Spanish Players In Premier League History

1. David Silva

Who else was it going to be? Over the course of a decade, David Silva has established himself as one of the greatest attacking midfielders the world has ever seen and most certainly the best Spanish player to grace the Premier League.

He joined the newly rich Manchester City in 2010 and alongside the likes of Vincent Kompany and Sergio Aguero, spearheaded the Citizen's charge to dominate English football. Four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, five League Cups and three Community Shields is their legacy.

Silva has been the architect of all that is great about City's attacking style of play. Under Roberto Mancini, Manuel Pellegrini and most recently Pep Guardiola, Silva has pulled the strings of the midfield, scoring and assisting for fun, utilising his great technique, dribbling ability and passing accuracy to maximum effect.

A gentleman on the pitch and off it too, he got the chance to captain his beloved City in his final season and endeared himself into football fan's hearts everywhere following the premature birth of his son and his touching recovery.

For his national team, Silva played a huge part in their domination from 2008-2012 and is currently Spain’s fourth highest goalscorer.

Even last season, when he turned 34, Silva was still one of the best creators in the league and he leaves England a Man City, Premier League and Spanish icon.
